United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon discussed the Syrian crisis with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today. The UN and Russia agree a "negotiated political solution is the only way to end the crisis," Ban says.
The U.S. and Turkey are pledging to continue political pressure on the Syrian government and rebels to come to the peace table. Meanwhile, Russia is supplying advanced missiles to Syrian government and is advocating for Iran's participation in peace discussions.
