The U.S. had the highest number of sleep-deprived students, identified by their teachers, compared with other countries, Boston College researchers found. In the U.S., 73% of 9- to 10-year-olds do not get sufficient sleep, while 80% of 13- to 14-year-olds are sleep deprived. In all countries, getting more sleep was linked to higher scores in math, science and reading, the study author said.
