Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has introduced a bill that would give students the same interest rate on their federal student loans that banks pay to borrow from the Federal Reserve. The bill, the first she has introduced, would apply for one year, during which she wants Congress to find a long-term solution to student loan interest rates. Rates on Stafford subsidized loans for new students will double to 6.8% on July 1.
