Good bosses never personally take the credit for their team's achievements -- but they also avoid referring to their team as "you" or "you guys" when praising them, says management psychologist Karissa Thacker. "Either 'we' did it as a team or 'we' did not," she says. "A more disciplined communicator would say, 'Let's give ourselves a hand for this quarter.' "
