Primary care physicians are seeing some financial benefits from the Affordable Care Act, such as the 10% Medicare bonus, and insurers are changing how they pay family physicians to put more focus on the increased value of primary care, AAFP President Jeffrey Cain, M.D., said in a Medscape interview. He said accountable care organizations fundamentally change how services are valued and family physicians should do better financially under the model.
