Officials in Arkansas have confirmed that a Scott County chicken has tested positive for H7N7 low-pathogenic avian influenza, which is contracted through contact with infected birds or contaminated water. The state Livestock and Poultry Commission has enacted a quarantine for poultry within a 6.2-mile radius of the case and will work with the USDA to coordinate additional testing. There is no threat to public health, state officials say.
