AT&T has started a pilot project to keep mobile devices powered up by installing solar-powered wireless charging stations, which will refill up to six devices at a time no matter the carrier, in 25 public outdoor areas around New York City. The stations will support iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices using USB charging cables. Also at AT&T, the carrier reportedly has begun to fulfill a promise it made last month to offer iPhone users nationwide support for Apple's FaceTime videochat application.
