Part of recovering from colorectal cancer is dealing with the emotional burden of the disease, says Danielle Ripley-Burgess, who became a colon cancer survivor at age 17 and now is a Colon Club board member. She says she used counseling, blogging, exercise, support groups and faith, along with other resources, to deal with the emotional toll of fighting cancer. "Whether you're 17 or 77 -- facing your own mortality isn't easy," she writes.
