Several cable series this year are getting an even bigger boost from delayed viewing now that almost half of U.S. households have DVRs. Among the shows benefiting from delayed viewing are established hits, such as AMC's "The Walking Dead," which increased its average viewership by 31% to 15 million, and new series, such as FX's "The Americans," which nearly doubled its average viewership to 3.4 million, thanks to DVR users.
