IBM has landed a contract to work with agencies in the Netherlands to develop Digital Delta, a project designed to "investigate how to transform flood control and the management of the entire Dutch water system and save up to 15 percent of the annual Dutch water management budget." It will look at data collected by a variety of sources and compiled in different formats to see if it can be combined "into a single accessible form" that can then be made "available not only to the Dutch water authorities, but to any interested partners to use it to build new solutions for water-related projects."
