A U.K. analysis showed that babies exposed to antibiotics during their first year of life had a greater likelihood of developing eczema later in life than those who were unexposed. For every extra course of antibiotics early in life, the risk of eczema increased by 7%, researchers said. The findings were published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
