Girls ages 9 to 12 who had bisphenol-A levels of 2 micrograms/liter or more were twice as likely as those with low levels to become obese, while those with BPA levels of more than 10 micrograms/liter had a fivefold increased risk of obesity, according to a recent study. However, researchers did not observe a link between BPA levels and obesity in girls older than 12 years or in boys of all ages.
