The New York Hotel Midtown's recent announcement that it would end room service fueled a spate of trend stories, but plenty of other hotels are coping with changing times by beefing up their room service instead of shutting it down. At the Four Seasons in Boston, guests can get mac-and-cheese with Maine lobster, and the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago and the Surrey Hotel in Manhattan make mixologists available to create custom in-room cocktails.
