Some companies are opting to bring on IT-acquisition specialists, because the cost of a bad hire can be upward of $50,000, a CareerBuilder survey indicates. "I understand the needs of the people in my network, and I understand the needs of IT because I support only IT, so I can make the best match for both," says Julie Magliozzi, an IT-talent-acquisition specialist at Philips.
