Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear led the groundbreaking Tuesday afternoon for the $2.6 billion Ohio River Bridges Project's downtown Louisville crossing. Work on the crossing consists of construction of the new span, the rebuilding of Louisville's Spaghetti Junction interchange and reconstruction of interstate connections across the river in Jeffersonville, Ind. The entire project -- including a second bridge between the two states -- is expected to be finished by 2016.
