With higher-than-average income and smartphone penetration rates as high as 91%, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender demographic is a tempting target for travel marketers, according to a Community Marketing report. More than 30% of LGBT consumers used smartphones for booking flights or checking fares in the 30 days before a Digitas poll, and 9.7% booked a flight, while 10.3% booked hotels for vacation or personal use.
