Increasing demand for cybersecurity specialists is leading to an increase in the number of colleges offering network security programs and a renewed interest in the field among students. In addition to traditional degree programs in computer science and information technology, schools are adding data science majors and certificate programs designed to give graduates a foothold in the lucrative cybersecurity field. "This isn't a fad," said Richard Harknett, a University of Cincinnati political science professor. "We keep doubling down on this. We're doubling down on an insecure infrastructure for convenience and efficiency."
