Kids attending a three-day camp at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, N.C., this summer learned that science, technology, engineering and math can be fun -- and involve the making of fake blood. Computer programming, 3D design, robotics and forensic science -- complete with fingerprint dusting and the creation of artificial blood -- were among the activities in which students took part. "This camp opens their eyes to all the [STEM] possibilities and gets them excited about school next year," said Pam Gibson, college tech-prep coordinator at the college.
