New York City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan officially launched WalkNYC this week at a newly installed wayfinding sign at Mulberry and Worth streets in Chinatown. The city will install about 100 signs in several neighborhoods this summer and roll out the program citywide in the next year, with the goal of convincing more residents and visitors to explore the city and its businesses by walking more and driving less.
