BP, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and TransCanada by the end of the year will have spent as much as $100 million on a proposed liquefied natural gas project in Alaska, the companies said. "Towards this goal, a competitive, predictable and durable oil and gas fiscal environment will be required for a project of this unprecedented scale, complexity and cost to compete in global energy markets," according to the companies.
