The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has signaled progress in advancing some workplace-safety standards despite the slow pace in the rule-making process. "[We] are going to move forward some of these standards very soon," said OSHA Director David Michaels. The agency is re-evaluating its analyses for a pending rule on silica, said Maureen Ruskin, director at OSHA's Office of Chemical Hazards-Metals in the Directorate of Standards and Guidance.
