The independent drugstore lobby's push to restrict lower-cost preferred network drug plans would force unions, employers and other payers to pay more for prescription drugs, writes Pharmaceutical Care Management Association President and CEO Mark Merritt. "Instead of new mandates that ban employers from offering lower-cost mail-service pharmacies or preferred pharmacy networks, the drugstore lobby should instead offer solutions that reduce costs," Merritt writes.
