The small number of studies that evaluate the use of anti-seizure drugs to treat chronic genital pain in women are of low quality, making it difficult to determine efficacy of the medications, according to researchers at State University of New York at Buffalo. The report in the Journal of Sexual Medicine said the studies used less rigorous designs and included open label formats rather than double-blind, randomized controlled trials.
