More than 8 in 10 e-commerce merchants do not track whether purchases are being made via desktop or mobile device, according to a study on small online merchants from TransFirst and ControlScan. While many merchants get as much as a quarter of their traffic from mobile devices, the report found that only half had sites optimized for mobile. "The big news is that as a whole, small merchants who sell online are not adapting to critical consumer trends with regard to mobile," said ControlScan's senior director of product management, David Abouchar.
