The U.S. has been hacking into Chinese and Hong Kong computer systems for years, said National Security Agency whistle-blower Edward Snowden in an interview with the South China Morning Post. Saying he was neither a hero nor a traitor, Snowden said he would remain in Hong Kong and battle extradition using legal means. Meanwhile, NSA chief Gen. Keith Alexander gave a robust defense of government surveillance. "I think what we're doing to protect American citizens here is the right thing. We aren't trying to hide it," he said.
