An analysis of data from 24 studies showed that use of birth control pills was associated with a 27% lower risk of developing ovarian cancer, with longer use linked to greater protection. Women who used oral contraceptives for 10 years were 50% less likely to be diagnosed with the condition than nonusers, researchers reported in the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology.
