Advocates of same-sex marriage are hoping that the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark ruling striking down the Defense of Marriage Act will lead more states to legalize unions between same-sex couples. President Barack Obama said that he hoped all states would recognize marriages conducted by other states, but campaigners said they expected Obama to take the safe route and not to push states to change their own marriage laws. "The president got on a wave that was already rolling. He's certainly not leading the wave," said Heather Cronk, co-founder of GetEQUAL.
