The 78-year-old City College of San Francisco could lose its accreditation in July 2014 after a panel overseeing the two-year college on Wednesday recommended the move, citing ongoing financial and administrative problems. The multicampus school can ask for a review and an appeal to head off the action. Faculty union President Alisa Messer vowed "to fight to ensure that we remain a school that offers quality education," but said the troubles had caused some faculty to leave for other jobs.
