The U.S. FDA has warned 15 domestic and international companies to stop selling 20 drugs that it says make false diabetes claims. Some of the drugs are said to be natural products while containing active pharmaceutical ingredients. Others are prescription drugs sold without a prescription, and still others falsely claim to alleviate symptoms, the agency said. FDA compliance officer Howard Sklamberg said that health care fraud with diabetes treatments is a particularly large problem.
