Depending on which report is correct, Apple is either starting production of the next iPhone in preparation for a fall release or delaying its introduction until year-end to build a 4.3-inch screen. Jefferies analyst Peter Misek and All Things Digital say Apple's factories will begin producing new iPhones later this month with possible plans to make a second, cheaper version. Taiwan's Commercial Times, however, claims that report is only half right: Apple is indeed prepping a less-expensive model for the third quarter, but the newspaper quotes semiconductor sources in predicting the delays.
