Argentina's booming biofuel industry is "practically paralyzed" due to unpredictable domestic policies and high duties recently imposed by the European Union. The nation's biodiesel exports dropped 45% this year to 242,000 tons after it lost its European market following EU claims of dumping. Argentina responded by denying the charges and filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization, but its biodiesel production has dropped dramatically from 710,000 tons in the first quarter of 2012 to the current 390,000 tons.
