Satellite companies and telecoms have increased their market share among U.S. multichannel video homes over the past couple of years, according to the Federal Communications Commission's report on competition that the agency released this week. Satellite companies grew their share slightly from 33.1% to 33.6% from 2010 to mid-2012. That stood in contrast to the dwindling number of cable-TV subscribers, which fell from 59.3% of the pay-TV market at the end of 2011 to 55.7% as of June 2012.
