The number of Americans who have atrial fibrillation will soar to 12.1 million in 2030, with a mean annual growth rate of 4.6%, according to projections reported in the American Journal of Cardiology. Researcher Dr. Daniel Singer said the symptoms can limit patients' ability to exercise, and the condition can lead to heart failure or stroke.
