Regular debridement was associated with faster wound healing in patients with conditions including diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers, according to a study in JAMA Dermatology. Data on 155,000 patients showed those who had debridement at least once a week for diabetic foot ulcers had a mean healing period of 21 days, compared with 76 days in those debrided once every two weeks or longer.
