NASA's public call for ideas on how to find potentially dangerous asteroids and capture others for study has generated more than 400 proposals, the space agency announced. The solicitations for NASA's asteroid-retrieval mission and Asteroid Grand Challenge Program -- which is concerned with identifying as many as 1 million small but threatening asteroids that have yet to be located -- were made on June 18. NASA is hoping one of the ideas will help it realize its plan of lassoing a small asteroid and putting it in the moon's orbit for future study.
