Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia added jobs in June, while construction employment dropped in 24 other states, according to an analysis of construction employment data by the Associated General Contractors of America. "On a year-over-year basis, construction employment has increased in more than two-thirds of the states, but nearly all states lag their pre-recession peaks for construction jobs," said Ken Simonson, the AGC's chief economist.
