Nordex USA cited "global overcapacity and the continued uncertainty" in the U.S. market for its decision to close its wind turbine plant in Jonesboro, Ark., once it has met existing orders. The plant's closure will mark the end of Nordex's manufacturing on the continent. "We are reacting to the weakened demand from the U.S. market, brought on by the unpredictable extensions of the Production Tax Credit, and the resulting low utilization rate of our U.S. assembly plant," said Jurgen Zeschky, CEO of parent company Nordex SE.
