There is "no evidence" that TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline would create as many jobs as some Republicans have claimed, President Barack Obama said in an interview with The New York Times. About 2,000 jobs would be created during the pipeline's construction, and between 50 and 100 jobs during operations, Obama said. The president, however, noted that the U.S. stands to benefit from further integrating its energy supplies with a "reliable ally to the north."
