High-school physics teacher Rosalind Echols, of the Science Leadership Academy in Center City, Pa., likes to use real-life situations to help her students experience science. This week, Echols will embark on 18 days on a ship in Alaska with a crew mapping the ocean floor as part of the Teacher at Sea program sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
