Through Project SEED, a program founded by the American Chemical Society, 10 high-school students from St. Joseph and Elkhart counties in Indiana, are working in research labs at Notre Dame or Indiana University School of Medicine-South Bend. Students in the program, which targets economically disadvantaged teens -- earn a $2,500 stipend for their efforts and learn from professors who also serve as mentors.
