Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and his Republican counterpart, Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., have plenty of problems as the 2014 midterms approach. There's a real chance Democrats will lose control of the upper chamber -- but McConnell faces a tough right-wing primary challenge that could make it hard for him to steer his party into the mainstream, electable path many pundits say is needed for a national victory. Political columnist Al Cross said, "He's really caught between the need to keep Republicans participating in the mainstream and to keep himself from being embarrassed in a primary."
