Wilson County Schools in Tennessee posted a 95.5% graduation rate in 2012 thanks, in part, to the district's use of graduation coaches to help keep students on track. The district plans to expand the use of graduation coaches to its middle schools this year. "We want to focus more on the lower grades because ninth grade is very critical," program coordinator Pat Climer said. "It's a pivotal year because if students can pass everything in first block they are on their way," Climer added.
