Transportation Security Administration chief John Pistole said a Yemen-based al-Qaida bomb maker was trying to create an underwear-based bomb to detonate on a plane over the U.S. last year. "All of our explosive detection equipment… wasn’t calibrated to detect that. And all of our 800 bomb-sniffing dogs had not been trained for that specific type," Pistole said of the "Underwear 2" type of bomb.
