The University of California and the California State University systems' requirement of three years of high-school math has prompted some school districts to re-evaluate curriculum and graduation requirements. John Bohannon, director of alternative education for the Chico Unified School District in California, recently told the district's board of trustees that a team of math teachers from local high schools and junior high schools would meet to discuss which classes should be added to existing courses.
