More than 200 of 339 metro areas in the U.S. posted employment gains in the construction sector in July, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors pf America. Several Texas cities -- Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston -- were among the top 10 metros that posted the largest gains, with real estate firm CBRE noting that Houston has 56 office projects "totaling at least 11 million square feet under construction." However, only 19 of metropolitan areas that posted gains in from July 2012 to July 2013 are "at an all-time July high," according to Ken Simonson, AGC's chief economist.
