American International Group, which lost market share after the financial crisis, exceeded MetLife in U.S. annuity sales in this year's second quarter. AIG sold $3.9 billion worth of annuities in the quarter, compared to MetLife's $3.1 billion. Jackson National held its lead in the market, selling $6.4 billion of annuities.
