Of the world's 11 largest pharmaceutical companies, six market a single drug that represented more than 10% of their total sales last year, according to journalist David Yanofsky. The company with the biggest portion of net sales in one drug was Abbott Laboratories with its rheumatoid arthritis treatment Humira, which accounted for more than 23% of the firm's sales, followed by Eli Lilly & Co., whose antidepressant Cymbalta made up more than 22% of net sales. The big exception: highly diversified Bayer, with no single product taking more than 5% of sales.
