Even if deep budget cuts betray a lack of political interest in NASA's mission, students apparently are not giving up, with the agency's Marshall Space Flight Center receiving more than 6,000 applications for its summer internship program, according to this article. The student applicants "know and still believe that NASA is the place to be for aerospace engineering," said Mona Miller, Marshall's intern project lead.
