A yearlong study by the Environmental Protection Agency will seek to determine whether chemical vapors from a Superfund site in Muncie, Ind., have been moving toward as many as 50 nearby homes. "If we find some site chemicals above health-related values, we will install a mitigation system, like a radon system," said Shelly Lam of the EPA. The EPA began removing soil contaminated with volatile organic compounds and other substances from the site of Kiser Plating's former factory in June as part of the $700,000 cleanup.
