The Great Rivers Environmental Center has filed a lawsuit alleging that Missouri's Joint Commission on Administrative Rules watered down the state's renewable portfolio standard by allowing utilities to get renewable energy or renewable-energy credits from outside Missouri. "We have the facade of a renewable energy standard that is not making any meaningful change," said P.J. Wilson, executive director of Renew Missouri. Warren Wood, vice president of regulatory and legislative affairs at Ameren Missouri, said it was cheaper to get renewable energy from outside Missouri.
